Women want and deserve an equal future that is free from stereotypes, stigma, and violence; a future that is peaceful, sustainable with equal rights and opportunities for all. To get us there, the world needs women at every table where decisions are being made.

Women used to be considered inferior to males having no significance and personality. They were almost uneducated. Due to the efforts of social reformers the status of women was improved, which further helped women in recognizing their own rights.
The position of women in society has considerably changed today. The existence and importance of women in society are honored today. Women are more educated, they have achieved high fame in the areas of literature, music, and acting. Women are also moving toward the field of technology. When women lead, we see positive results. Some of the most efficient and exemplary responses to the COVID-19 pandemic were led by women.
It is the process of increasing the authority and responsibility of women to make their own choices and transform them into desired actions. It relates to the sense of self-worth. Women today have realized the power to control their lives within and outside the home to make life choices. It elaborates that women get equal rights as men when it comes to social, political, economic stability, etc.
Swami Vivekananda quoted that “there is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said, “when women move forward the family moves, the villages move, and the nation move.”
The best and bonafide example of women empowerment is “The Lijjat Papad Story” :
7 illiterate and poor women borrowed 80 rupees to start a papad business back in 1959. Its turnover from 6000 rupees in the first year rose to 300 crore rupees in the next 4 decades.
Examples of successful Indian Women:
For years, women have fought for equal representation with men, especially in the workplace, and today, we can proudly say that some progress has been made. The number of women working as lawyers, doctors, engineers, scientists, and politicians compared to ten or twenty years ago is higher. Over the last few years, women have gone up the ladder and risen to the top leadership positions in companies than ever before. Many companies are realizing that it is valuable to have more women among the top executives.
